Description

Could you help people in your community who are lonely or isolated?

By spending a little time helping those who feel alone and isolated you will build people's confidence and help them connect to their own community.

For each person you help this could look a bit different; from having a cup of tea, to joining them at a local community group to taking them shopping. Each person will have different needs and we will match volunteers to people based on their interests and needs.

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

Red Cross Foundation training programme
Community Connector specific training

About you

The organisation has indicated the following requirements from volunteers who want to take this opportunity.

Essential: Good communication skills, sensitivity, able to keep confidentiality, ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable: Knowledge of community groups in your area.
