Location Citizens Advice Middlesbrough, 9 Linthorpe Road (advice address), 3 Bolckow Street (postal address), Middlesbrough TS1 1TH We are next door to Yorkshire Bank and close to Marks and Spencers.
Description

Volunteers are needed to provide advice to members of the public on a range of legal matters, including welfare benefits, housing, family, immigration, employment, debt and consumer problems (please note this work involves extensive training). Duties will include interviewing members of the public, looking up information and giving advice. Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week over two half day sessions. We provide a comprehensive accredited training programme that will give you the skills you need to deliver a high quality service to clients. Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Volunteers are also required to attend Workers Meetings (every second Wednesday of the month: 1pm - 3pm.

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

The training lasts for up to 18 months. You will start to advise clients within 6 months. Training includes observing and participating in advice appointments, attending Interview Skills courses and using self-study packs to increase your understanding of the role.
