Hours per week 5 hours
Location Community based role - mentoring takes place in beneficiaries households with Project Manager. Volunteer will meet at Newtown Community Resource Centre, Durham Road, Stockton or at a pre-arranged destination.
Description

Are you passionate about supporting people who are facing increasing barriers around financial and social inclusion, enabling them to improve their livelihoods and take action against perceived areas of social injustice?
Are you keen to help people build their confidence and ability to work through a range of difficulties they face on a daily basis?
Mentor support provides an opportunity to develop relationships, building the capacity of people to affect transformative change. It is not about giving one off advice or helping people through a crisis - but is about providing an opportunity to encourage self development and learning thus affecting behaviour change. Mentor support is offered to beneficiaries who may: experience unmanageable levels of debt (particularly high cost credit); have been sanctioned by the job centre; on a zero hours contract and/or struggling with the impact of welfare reform.

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

A half day mentor support training session will be facilitated by the Project Manager.
