Description

Are you passionate about tackling social injustice? Do you care about the difficulties faced by our financially and socially excluded members of the community and would you like to contribute to affecting change at a local and national level. Volunteer Community Organisers are the leaders who make this happen.
V olunteering at Thrive will provide opportunities to choose issues which are:
1. Winnable
2. Specific (they have to identify exactly what it is they need to change)
3. Short-term
4. Immediate (in the hearts and minds of the people we’re talking about)
5. Targeted (there has to be somebody who is able to help make the change we need)
These issues will be around: financial exclusion; zero hours contracts; living wage; sanctions; welfare reform

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

  • Interpersonal/Confidence
  • Teamwork
  • Problem solving/Creativity
  • Planning/Organising

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:
