The Do Good, Feel Good clothing sale was a great success. Staff and students had the chance to update their wardrobes and make a meaningful impact on the environment and community. Everything was priced at £1 and the total amount raised was a massive £220. This amount will be split between two local charities, Teesside Hospice and Teesside Mind. Both charities support people in our local area and beyond.
Supporting the Universities Sustainable Futures Strategy, this project has aligned with our commitment to sustainability and made a real difference in our wider community.
Our students volunteered to sort the clothes beforehand and on the day of the sale. They certainly brought the fun, the laughter and made a difference to everyone they supported. Volunteering helps to build so many skills. This sale was all about teamwork, communication and belonging. Thank you, Veena, Joy, Mayowa, Simran and Rani – you certainly have these skills in abundance.
Will we be doing this again? Of course, and we can’t wait! Do keep a look out for other volunteering opportunities. Developing transferrable skills that can be put on your CV to make you stand out.

This is a voluntary role required to support the community and event fundraising team. The role involves assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of community fundraising activities, campaigns and fundraising events.
