When the Linx Youth Project asked for help wrapping Christmas presents, we knew it would be the perfect Do Good, Feel Good opportunity.
Our volunteering students, alongside the volunteering team, kindly stepped up to lend a hand. Together, we spent the afternoon wrapping gifts generously donated through the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal.
Cash for Kids supports children when they need it most. The charity is dedicated to improving young lives across the UK, supporting children living in poverty, helping those with additional needs, tackling neglect, and offering a helping hand when there’s nowhere else to turn.
Based in the heart of Middlesbrough, the Linx Youth Project was a beneficiary of the Mission Christmas Appeal due to the incredible work they do with children and young people in need. Linx is a place where young people can grow, explore, and feel at home. For years, they have opened their doors to provide a safe and welcoming space for all who attend. What often begins as a simple evening session frequently becomes somewhere young people feel seen, heard, and truly valued.
We certainly had our work cut out for us. Armed with wrapping paper and sellotape, we worked together as a team to ensure every present was wrapped with care, ready to bring excitement, joy, and anticipation to each recipient.
A huge thank you to Banna and the Linx team for making us feel so welcome (and for the endless cups of tea and biscuits). You were the perfect hosts, and we are incredibly lucky to have Linx Youth Project on the Volun-tees platform. After a very productive afternoon, we found ourselves with a short wait for the taxi. What better way to end the day than a peaceful walk around the beautiful Hemlington Lake, catching the sun just as it began to set. It gave us a moment to reflect on what we had achieved and the positive difference we had made together.
