Festive Food Drive

Join the Northeast University Festive Food Drive. We'll be setting up food donation points across campus for staff and students to donate food items which will be weighed, boxed and delivered to local charities. What better time of year to help those in need. Meet other students wanting to support this great cause. We are looking for fun, enthusiastic volunteers to help us to support worthwhile causes.

Building Santa’s Grotto

Getting the Unicorn Centre into the Christmas Spirit by decorating the Stable. What a great way to spend the day - decorating the Unicorn Horse-riding Centre for disabled children.  The Centre has lots of festive Christmas decorations which need setting up around the stables and arena. From lights, to Christmas Trees to Santa’s very own Grotto.  Come along on Wednesday 29 November between 10.00 – 3.00 pm and have some fun with other volunteers and staff from the centre. What's not to love - Christmas Decorations, Festive Tunes and a fantastic day spent with other volunteers transforming the centre into a Winter Wonderland. Transport will be provided.

Tees Valley Festivals

Nightfall Steward/Front of House/Workshop Assistant

These are fun, dynamic roles, working with event zone managers to support artists, performers and visitors and interacting with visitors, assisting artists and makers in the running of their workshops. You can see the whole show for free after volunteering for your shift! You'll have fun, meet new people and be part of a team! You'll learn about event management, develop great customer service skills, discover new performers and artists and be at the heart of the festival. You will be helping others have a great time and make the festival a success. Stewart’s Park, Middlesbrough Wednesday 29th November - Sunday 3rd December, 3:30pm - 10:30pm

Light up a Life Christmas Tree Guardian

We need your help for our Light up a Life appeal which raises tens of thousands of pounds each year! If you didn't know, our Light up a Life appeal supports the hospice by supporters leaving a donation and dedication in memory of those they've lost. We promise this won't be a taxing mission – instead, it's a chance to meet our band of merry supporters and make a meaningful impact on the lives we touch here at Teesside Hospice.

Christmas Cards for Children in Hospital

What better way to spend an afternoon than making Christmas cards for those children who are poorly in James Cook Hospital and who would really appreciate receiving a handmade card. You don't have to be creative to get involved. We'll have all the materials you need to make some cards.  It's all about you giving up your time to make a child smile.  You will meet lots of other students and enjoy a fun festive afternoon. This activity will take place on Thursday 7 December on campus between 1.00 – 3.00 pm. It's also Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day, so please wear your best Christmas woolly pulley.

The Christmas Dinner Middlesbrough & Teesside

Volunteers are needed to help young people leaving the care system in Middlesbrough to enjoy a traditional Christmas Day. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy a Christmas with presents, dinner and lots of fun. We are looking for up to 30 volunteers to help out with a range of tasks on 24 December, to set up our venue and help prepare the meal. We will require the same number of volunteers again on Christmas Day to keep our guest’s company and make them feel welcome, encourage them to participate in any activities, serve the meals and clear up at the end of the day. Volunteers don’t have to be available to volunteer on all these dates, or in fact all day on any of the dates. There are no specific qualifications or experience you need to volunteer with The Christmas Dinner, but you need to be reliable and have a friendly, positive attitude. All volunteers will also have the opportunity to enjoy a Christmas Dinner and for some of our international students, experience Christmas in the UK for the very first time.
