This opportunity invites volunteers to support the running of our Christmas event, ensuring it is inclusive, accessible, and filled with festive spirit for all who attend.

What You'll Do:

Volunteers at our Christmas event will play a key role in creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for all families. Duties will include:

  • setting up and decorating the venue
  • registering families on arrival
  • supporting and guiding guests to their seats in the cinema screen
  • handing out film snacks.
  • Volunteers will also assist families whose children or young people may need to regulate outside the screening,
  • help set up Santa’s Corner,
  • support with crowd management and distribution of Santa’s gifts.

At the close of the event, volunteers will work together to clean and reset the venue, ensuring it is left as we found it. This is a rewarding opportunity to share the festive spirit while making the event accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Why You'll Love It:
You’ll love volunteering with us because not only will you make a real difference, but you’ll also help create a magical festive experience for SEND families who may not normally have the chance to attend events like this. Volunteering with us means being part of a supportive team, building leadership, organisation, and adaptability skills, and sharing in the joy of making Christmas truly inclusive for everyone.
What You'll Learn:
What You’ll Learn as a Volunteer Teamwork & Collaboration – working together to create a smooth, inclusive event. Leadership Skills – taking initiative and guiding families through the day. Organisation & Event Management – from set-up to crowd flow to clean-up. Adaptability & Problem-Solving – supporting SEND families with care and flexibility. Ideally, you will bring knowledge and/or experience of supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Patience, empathy, and adaptability are essential qualities, as they ensure every family feels valued, supported, and included.
