Headway Darlington and District supports people with an acquired brain injury who live in Darlington and the surrounding area. We are looking for volunteers who will support our activity sessions which are held weekly at our base in Darlington.

What You'll Do:

Volunteers will help plan the session with our part time staff member. They will prepare the room for the session, lead the group with the support of other volunteers and encourage members of Headway to join in. They will then tidy away after the session.

We offer activities such as arts and crafts, quizzes, bowling and day trips to local places of interest. We would welcome volunteers with other skills they would like to share.

Why You'll Love It:
We are a really friendly group!  Our members enjoy meeting new volunteers, taking part in activities and learning new skills. You will join a supportive, welcoming  group of volunteers who are happy to share their experience and skills.
What You'll Learn:
You will be provided with safeguarding training. You will learn to interact with people with communications needs and learn more about life with a brain injury. This could be particularly useful for health and social care students or those going into caring or medical roles.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for friendly, motivated and caring people. We would welcome volunteers with skills they could share such as music, arts and crafts, gentle exercise activities, quizzes or anything else that may interest our group!
