Reception Volunteer
Department: Main Reception
Location: Main Reception, Teesside Hospice, 1 Northgate Road, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, TS5 5NW
Time Requirement: Flexible to suit you (Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm)
DBS Check needed? Yes
Age Requirements: From 18 years old plus
Role Summary: To volunteer on our reception, greeting patients, relative and visitors upon arrival at Teesside Hospice. Supporting answering telephone, taking messages, and directing calls to appropriate staff and various other administration duties as detailed below.
Key Responsibilities
- Meeting and greeting patients, relatives and visitors, directing to relevant departments.
- Supporting visitors to sign in using electronic register
- Answer telephone calls taking/relaying messages, directing calls to relevant staff
- Support the Clinical Administrative team as able
- Photocopying / Scanning of documents / leaflets
- To respect and maintain patient confidentiality
- Selling of merchandise / raffle tickets, taking payments using electronic payment system and cash

Training requirements:
As a Reception Volunteer you will be required to complete the following training:
- Teesside Hospice mandatory training
- Volunteer induction training
Support and supervision:
Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be the clinical administrators to support you in your role.

ommunications:
The Clinical administrator will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.
