As a Librarian of things you will help with the day to day activities of the library. The main thing is to be a friendly welcoming person.
What You'll Do:
- Welcome and help people who come to borrow / return items.
- Check the condition of items before and after borrowing.
- Answer questions / help promote the library to people passing by our desk in the Creation gallery
- Help with maintaining the items in the library where appropriate
- Potentially help us with social media promotion if interested
- Potentially help us run workshops on sustainable crafts and other topics
- We will train you on all policies and procedures but they are not too tricky
Why You'll Love It:
It's a chance to make a difference in a project that has positive environmental and social impacts
You get to work with and meet a wide variety of people
It's in Saltburn which is a lovley place to visit (and easily accessible by train or bus from Middlesbrough)
What You'll Learn:
How work with a lot of different kinds of people
About environmental and social justice
Potentially how to set up a project like this somewhere else in the future
What We're Looking For:
A friendly, reliable person - we can teach you any of the rest
