Set Up and Take Down volunteers get the Festival off to a great start by putting artworks and signage around town and helping to prepare the venues. They ensure we tidy up afterwards and leave things as we found them.

What You'll Do:

The next Festival will be 7-9 August 2024. Peak times for set up will be Thursday 6th, Friday (7th) morning, late on Sunday (9th) and Monday morning (10th). You can expect to be on duty up to 10 hours in total at some point during these times. You’ll get a free festival pass so you can enjoy the Folky Fun from Friday afternoon to mid evening on Sunday.

You'll place signs, artworks and decorations in locations around Saltburn. You'll help make sure venues are safe and ready for use. This may include putting up banners and decorations, putting out chairs, moving tables etc.

Take down at the end of the Festival: collecting signs, artworks and decorations; cleaning and tidying venues; moving furniture and equipment

Why You'll Love It:
You get to meet people and be part of a team. You can join in the fun and attend events free of charge during the main part of the Festival. You'll be helping others have a great time, making the Festival a success and contributing to its positive impact on the town.
What You'll Learn:
You'll learn about event management. You'll discover new performers and genres of music
What We're Looking For:
People who are well organised, reliable and practical, willing to pay attention in briefings and to follow policies and procedures. Physical fitness for moving equipment essential. Creativity and/or basic DIY skills would be useful. Use of a car or van for some tasks would be a bonus, but not essential as venues are only few minutes apart on foot or on a bike. NB You must always decide whether you are competent to undertake any given task or process. We don’t give specific advanced training in eg lifting and handling, power tools, working at heights. If you bring expertise in these areas please confirm this before beginning relevant tasks.
