To help support the digitisation of 15,000 Wooden Peg Dolls that were decorated as part of the Stockton and Darlington Railway Bi-centenary celebrations held in 2025. This project will run from April to September.

What You'll Do: 

You will inbox Peg Dolls and then write down their descriptions, character materials used and the informaiton tags memories down. Some volunteers will be trained to take digit images and some will be transcribing written informaiton down on to databases. 

 

These will be done as individuals or as small groups.

It gives an insight into Museum collections and archival processes and provide students interested in working within the heritage sector experience of a digitisation project and community engagement. 
What You'll Learn: 
Individual and team work skills modern caterloging processes meeting people of all different backgrounds and age groups about memories of the general public and how we can use community art works to make exhibitions
What We're Looking For: 
enthusiam, willingness to commit to a few sessions over the course of Aprilt to September (one morning a month).      Rail fair from Middlesbrough to Hopetown provided.  Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juices provided as well as biscuits during sessions lunch provision if doing more than 4 hours in one day

Set Up and Take Down volunteers get the Festival off to a great start by putting artworks and signage around town and helping to prepare the venues. They ensure we tidy up afterwards and leave things as we found them.
