What You'll Do: 

Role outline Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) at all times, clinical volunteers will provide a range of therapeutic interaction to patients whilst maintaining respect for the individuality, confidentiality and dignity of all patients. The role can include: Engaging with patients who are distressed and anxious, or simply in need of some company in a variety of clinical areas. Reading quietly to patients if requested and at an appropriate time. Escorting/walking with patients who are wandersome if this is deemed as suitable and safe. Helping to therapeutically distract patients, for example, playing cards, memory boxes looking at photographs etc. Talking and listening to patients, and if appropriate, informal chats over a cup of tea. Encourage patients to be aware of their nutritional and hydration needs, and assist with nutrition and hydration where appropriate to do so. Supporting patients who may need to leave the ward to attend other areas of the hospital.

What You'll Learn: 
You will gain experience within a healthcare setting and devlop confidence and skills such as commuciation and working within a team.
What We're Looking For: 
People who can offer atleast 3 hours per week and who have a passion to make a difference to the experience of our patients.
