Volunteers will help unpaid carers complete various forms such as blue badge forms, PIP application forms and attendance allowance forms.

What You'll Do:

Volunteers will provide practical support in completing the forms, and well as providing reassurance and emotional support to the carers who may be feeling intimidated or anxious about the process.

Filling in forms can be an overwhelming experience for many people, especially when they are already managing so much through their day-to-day caring responsibilities. Volunteers are trained to help the carers complete various forms and improve the chances of a successful application, while supporting the carer through the process.

Why You'll Love It:
You will be able to gain experience in providing face-to-face support, while helping unpaid carers from the local community be able to cope better with the day-to-day challenges of their caring role.
What You'll Learn:
You will learn about the specific challenges faced by unpaid carers, as well as practisicing your skills in providing face-to-face support to people.
What We're Looking For:
Volunteers must be friendly and approachable, as well as having good communication and listening skills.  They must have good written English skills and be competent with handling paperwork. Volunteers must understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and having appropriate boundaries. It is important for volunteers to be reliable.
