What You'll Do:

Are you a student who wants to understand how the field of research works in the health & care system? Are you a student who wants to gain hands on experience planning research and handling data? Perhaps you are embarking on a career within health & social care?  In 2021 we are offering exciting opportunities for volunteers to get involved with exciting health & care research projects.  Why join us? Local Healthwatch has a unique position within the health system meaning you will gain experience like no other. Working with NHS at a local, regional and national level you will understand how research informs the landscape of health & care now and in the future. Our research is based on the patients voice which is at the heart of NHS England's Long Term Plan and their vision for the future. The insight and experience you gain from this opportunity will set you aside from other applicants in the future for potential job roles. Not only this but you will meet fantastic people and be recognised for sharing your time. What will you do?You will get the opportunity to help plan research projects, surveys, analyse data, listen to real life patients who take part in our research, report writing and attending meetings so you can understand how our research influences now and in the future.  Where and When? Our roles are flexible. We understand students may have periods of intense studying and other commitments. Your time shared is tailored to meet your needs. All of our roles are 'from home' currently which means you need access to a computer/laptop with internet. You will need to be comfortable using Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.
