We are looking to expand our dedicated team of volunteers to help run our Community Tree Nursery. The aim of the nursery is to grow locally sourced tree seeds from seed for planting in green spaces within Middlesbrough.

What You'll Do:

You will carry out ongoing maintenance of the tree nursery, such as weeding, watering and inventory. You may also be required to carry out site maintenance to improve the tree nursery, which may include creating new seed beds, painting existing structures and improving our on site Community Tool Library.

Why You'll Love It:
This position offers the chance to meet likeminded individuals looking to make difference and help improve Middlesbrough's green spaces through climate action activities. The site is very peaceful and has a number of excellent gardens that are managed by the Friends of Nature's World providing a haven for wildlife.
What You'll Learn:
You will learn about growing trees from seed, where and how to plant trees at local green spaces across Middlesbrough. There is often chances to learn other skills such as carpentry and safe and proper machinery and power tool usage.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for dedicated individuals that share our passion for nature, outdoors and climate action. The position is fairly relaxed and there is no minimum commitment, however we are looking for people who are able to put in a bit of hard graft when they are on site.
