The MAW Team are seeking volunteers who are aged 17 or over, to lend a hand throughout the festival.
Middlesbrough Art Week (MAW) is an annual contemporary arts festival held in Middlesbrough from Thursday 28th September to Saturday 7th October.

What You'll Do: 

 

Middlesbrough Art Week (MAW) is an annual contemporary arts festival held in Middlesbrough. Spread out across over a dozen locations, including The Auxiliary Project Space and the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA), local businesses and new gallery spaces, the festival will have something for everyone.

This is your chance to be a part of running an exciting and vibrant arts festival, where you will see and learn about lots of great art, meet loads of interesting people, gain experience working at a festival and most importantly, have fun doing it!

Main duties will include:

  • Meet and greet members of the public, and answer any queries they may have.
  • Stewarding exhibition spaces.
  • Signposting members of the public to the exhibitions, venues and events
  • Monitoring numbers.
  • Collecting feedback forms.

 

In return we offer:

  • Volunteer packs - including a tote bag, very fashionable Hi-Vis jacket and badge along with volunteer lanyard.
  • Food and drink during volunteer shifts.
  • First hand experience working at an arts festival.
  • A chance to involve yourself into a thriving arts community.

 

Volunteers are needed for the following days and times and we also welcome interest from those that can offer only a small portion of their time.

Thursday 28th September: 5pm-9pm

Friday 29th September: 9.30-5pm

Saturday 30th September: 9.30-5pm

Sunday 1st October: 11.30-4pm

Wednesday 4th October: 9.30-5pm

Thursday 5th October: 9.30-5pm

Friday 6th October: 9.30-5pm

Saturday 7th October 9.30-5pm

All volunteers are asked to attend an induction session on the week of the 25th September for 2 hours. The exact day and time to be confirmed at a later date. The induction will take place at The Auxiliary Warehouse, at 31 Station Street, Middlesbrough, TS1 1SR.
