An opportunity to support Middlesbrough Council improve their communication with the wider community

What You'll Do:

You will be attending community events and walkabouts to ensure Middlesbrough Council is able to communicate better with its diverse population. You may receive phone calls to ask you to assist with translation on an ad hoc basis, if you are available. You will be able to ensure all Middlesbrough residents are able to have a voice in the things that affect them, and that they understand the expectations on them,

Why You'll Love It:
It is an opportunity for you to develop your communication skills and become part of the real heart of the community. Your volunteering will ensure everybody's voice is heard, ultimately leading to improvements for the whole town. No two volunteering sessions will be the same, as you will be involved with officers across community safety, hubs, libraries, and cohesion.
What You'll Learn:
How the council operates. The importance of community cohesion and the impact on wider resilience. The importance of community safety. The varied community roles of our hubs and libraries. How to work in partnership with other agencies.
What We're Looking For:
Somone who is a good communicator and who is passionate about giving people a voice and ensuring everyone has equal opportunities to have their voice heard. A real people person who can think on their feet and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
