We're on the hunt for reliable, friendly volunteers with good communication skills. Our volunteers play an important role in ensuring The Mela runs smoothly and visitors have a great experience, You'll help make the festival a fabulous success!

What You'll Do: 

Middlesbrough Mela is one of the biggest and most spectacular multi-cultural festivals in the North-East and offers a fabulous mix of music, food, fashion and fun over two days. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Albert Park in the heart of Middlesbrough you can expect world class music, local talent, the market bazaar and a range of exciting activities for all the family.

 

What will you be doing?

 

  • Setting up the event space.
  • Welcoming visitors at entrances and information points.
  • Advising visitors on programme information.
  • Directing visitors to the right location.
  • Working with zone managers and operations teams.
  • Assiting artists and makers with the delivery of creative activities.

What You'll Learn: 
Once you have signed up to be part of Tees Valley Festivals Volunteering you will receive training in Customer Service and Health & Safety. There will be opportunities for further training in Inclusivity & Accessibility, Working with Children, Digital Capture, Content Creation and Social Media, and Sound and Technical Production. You can also get involved in some exciting creative community art and music workshops which will be running across the Tees Valley. And you can earn, and take part in, the RSA's wonderful new Badge Nation Award Programme.
