Keeping in regular contact with our members to check on their wellbeing is one of our key services. Our Wellbeing Volunteers contact a range of different members every week to make a friendly 'check in' call and have a chat.

What You'll Do: 
  • Contacting different members on a weekly basis to check on their wellbeing
  • Identifying needs and further support
  • Providing basic emotional support to members
  • Making additional support calls to deafblind members as required
  • Supporting with data collection
  • Completing online contact record following each contact

Confidence and good communication skills but are also someone who may be wanting to build their confidence levels Good listening skills A warm, friendly and engaging telephone manner Empathy with the pressures on deafblind people, their families and an understanding of their need for support Good IT skills Self-motivation with the ability to work on your own initiative, within the environment of a supportive team Able to enjoy interacting with our members from simple information calls to calls where Deafblind UK has changed their life, but also able to efficiently deal with emotional calls
