Volunteer Finance Assistant
Department: Finance
Location: Teesside Hospice, 1 Northgate Road, TS5 5NW
Time Requirement: Half a day - a day each week

Age Requirements: From 18 years old plus
Role Summary: You will provide financial administrative support for the Finance Team allowing appropriate information to be provided to stakeholders at all times
Key Responsibilities
- Amalgamating, recording and preparing donations ready to be banked.
- Scanning and saving electronic copies of purchase invoices, ensuring all are present and correct.
- Gift entry to our donor database.
- Assisting with Gift Aid claims from paper records such as sponsorship forms and donation envelopes.
- Assisting with financial queries from staff, volunteers and supporters.
- Inputting financial data into the Xero Accounts programme ensuring accurate information is held at all times.
- Other associated duties as required.
- Working in accordance with Teesside Hospice financial procedures. Being aware of financial control procedures and confirming that they are being operated properly throughout the organisation. Reporting any identified weaknesses in financial control to the Financial Controller and Director of Resources and taking a pro-active approach to action required to mitigate risk.

Training requirements:
As a Volunteer Finance Assistant you will complete the following training:
- Teesside Hospice mandatory training
- Volunteer induction training
- Any other training identified as appropriate to the role
Support and supervision:
Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be the Finance Assistants to support you in your role. Following that, your Line Manager is the Financial Controller.
Communications:
The Finance Team will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.
You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge.
