We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support Cancer Research UK's Race for Life and Pretty Muddy events. Your help can make a huge difference, and we especially need volunteers in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool.
Be a part of something special and support participants in these incredible fundraising events, which have raised over £500 million for Cancer Research UK. Join our Race family and contribute to the fight against cancer.
Volunteer Roles Available:
1. Course Marshal
This is our most-needed role. Positioned at key points throughout the course, you'll cheer participants on, provide information, and keep spirits high. Instruments, banners, and energy are all encouraged!
2. Start & Finish Marshal
Be at the heart of the action! Help participants with their warm-up, assist with start-line excitement (think confetti cannons and flags), and hand out medals, snacks, and water at the finish.
3. Admin Manager
Prefer a seated role with plenty of responsibility? You'll register last-minute participants, provide course information, and manage cash entries and donations. This role typically finishes once the race starts, ideal if you need to leave early.
4. Back Marker
Enjoy walking or jogging? As a Back Marker, you'll follow behind the last participants, ensuring no one is left behind. Bring a friend or even your dog for company!
5. Lead Bike
Own a bike? Lead the runners along the route and provide crucial updates to the event team. For those feeling extra strong, you can support the 10k participants by doing two laps.
