What You'll Do:

What you'll be doing:

  • Talking to people in your local community to understand what support parents need.
  • Encouraging local people to get involved and volunteer to support parents.
  • Building a strong and inclusive community of parents, guided by NCT's best practices.
  • Promoting and publicising local NCT events.
  • Keeping in touch with local volunteers.
  • Using social media to engage and support local parents.
  • Celebrating the difference volunteers make to local parents.
  • Championing NCT's values and vision.

We're looking for Community Builders who are:

  • Strong communicators.
  • Able to plan and organise their own time.
  • Able to motivate and inspire others.
  • Confident using social media.

Time Commitment:

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments. We ask that you can commit to 3 hours per week and ideally volunteer for at least 6 months. You'll also be invited to attend a monthly online catch-up with the Volunteering Team for training and support, usually in the evening with closed captioning available.

What you can expect from us:

  • A great volunteer experience and the opportunity to build a community for local parents.
  • Access to an online platform with all the tools, resources, and training you'll need.
  • Expenses paid in line with our expenses policy.
  • We'll champion equity, diversity, and inclusion through all that we do.
  • The opportunity to develop your skills.
  • Ongoing support and regular check-ins with the volunteer support team.
  • Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference to parents.
Why You'll Love It:
Are you passionate about connecting with parents and building a supportive community? As an NCT Community Builder, you'll be at the heart of our local volunteer team, engaging with parents to understand their needs and helping to create welcoming, inclusive events and activities that boost their wellbeing. This is a flexible, home-based role designed to fit around your availability.
