Cleveland School Sport Partnership works in collaboration with schools, local authorities, and community organisations to enhance the quality and reach of physical education, school sport, and physical activity opportunities for children and young people. We support schools to deliver inclusive, high-quality provision that develops physical literacy, improves wellbeing, and encourages lifelong participation in sport and physical activity. Through strong partnerships, workforce development, and targeted programmes, we aim to ensure every young person has the opportunity to be active, confident, and healthy.
Children and young people face growing challenges around physical inactivity, mental wellbeing, and confidence. Schools play a vital role in addressing these challenges, but they cannot do it alone. Our work matters because it supports schools to provide high-quality, inclusive physical education, school sport, and physical activity that reaches every young person—not just the most confident or active.
By working collaboratively with schools and partners, we help remove barriers to participation, develop physical literacy, and create positive experiences that build confidence, resilience, and wellbeing. The habits and attitudes formed through physical activity in childhood have a lasting impact on health, achievement, and quality of life. By investing in young people early, we are helping to create healthier, more active communities now and in the future.
We are looking for people who are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people through physical activity. Our people believe in the power of inclusive, high-quality physical education and school sport to support wellbeing, confidence, and lifelong participation.
We value individuals who are collaborative, proactive, and committed to learning. Our work relies on strong relationships with schools and partners, so we look for people who communicate well, act with professionalism and integrity, and take pride in their role.
We are also looking for people who share our commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and equality, and who are motivated to continually improve the quality and impact of what we do. Above all, we want people who care—about young people, about schools, and about creating positive experiences that truly matter.
What sets us apart is our partnership-led, school-focused approach. We work alongside schools rather than delivering to them, taking time to understand their individual contexts, challenges, and priorities. This allows us to provide support that is practical, relevant, and sustainable.
We place inclusion at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that opportunities reach all young people—not just those who are already confident or engaged in sport. Our work goes beyond participation numbers; we focus on quality experiences that build confidence, physical literacy, and wellbeing.
We are also committed to long-term impact. By investing in workforce development, strong relationships, and continuous improvement, we help schools create positive physical activity cultures that last well beyond individual programmes or events.
