Cruse Bereavement Care is the leading national charity for bereaved people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We offer support, advice and information to children, young people and adults when someone dies, and work to enhance society’s care of bereaved people. We have 3 branches here in the North East - Tyneside, Darlington & Durham and Teesside, and over 130 brilliant volunteers who provide bereavement support locally. We also have a small but growing team of fundraising volunteers who raise money to support the work we do here in the North East.
Bereavement affects everyone and can have a devastating effect on emotional, physical and mental health. The support we provide helps people understand their feelings, develop coping strategies, and return to every-day life, while remembering and celebrating the lives of those who have died."It was such a relief to talk about my grief to someone who would listen and understand what I was going through." - Cruse Bereavement Care Client

We can’t hope for a world without grief, but we continue to strive to meet our vision that everyone who needs support after someone dies will be able to find the help they need. In a changing and uncertain world Cruse Bereavement Care will be here to help people understand their feelings, develop coping strategies, and return to every-day life, while remembering and celebrating the lives of those they have lost.
