Peer Talk
We are launching a new group in Thornaby in February-meeting weekly.
We already have 4 successful groups based on Tyneside and Wearside.
We need volunteer facilitators and peers to attend.
ABOUT US:
Peer Talk is a national mental health charity-supporting people with feelings of depression and anxiety.
Our forums enable people to meet others who are going through similar life issues.
WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:
Our work matters because every one of us matters.
You are not on your own.
Anyone over 18 can attend-without appointment
OUR VALUES:
We advocate respect, we are non-judgmental and we do not offer advice-we are not counsellors, we are listeners...
THINGS WE ARE PROUD OF:
Helping many people in our region with support at a difficult time in their lives
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN OUR PEOPLE:
Great listeners
Respectful
Empathetic
Kindness
HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT:
We don't attempt to judge and have no preconceptions.
We encourage our peers to share and help each other.
We have no waiting lists-Anyone over 18 can simply turn up.
