This week we had the pleasure of visiting A Way Out in Stockton for a volunteering event they were hosting. We met with the lovely Donna Walker who is the Fundraising and Volunteering Coordinator who highlighted the difference that volunteers make to the charity, "They are invaluable and make such a difference to the charity". 

A Way Out believe that all women deserve to be safe, no one should experience fear, abuse, harm or exploitation. Working tirelessly to prevent this by empowering women, families and young people to overcome challenges they face and tackling injustice and inequality. A Way Out is based in Stockton at the support centre called The Gate. This centre provides the base for many of the projects, offering a safe and secure place for women to come and receive support and get involved in a whole range of activities. The charity are able to reimburse bus travel for volunteers to avoid any potential barriers to volunteering with them.

We are delighted to have A Way Out on the volun-tees platform who currently have three different volunteering opportunities on offer. For each of these, the skills and experience you will learn will be so beneficial to further your career.

They are looking for a kind, calm and empathetic manner who is reliable and consistent. You will be fully supported throughout by an excellent team of staff and professionals which will help you to grow your list of networks. Due to the nature of the charity, some roles are for females only however some are open to all.
