For the next Organisation Spotlight, we would like to introduce, Cleveland Police. Offering a fantastic volunteering opportunity as a Special Constable, this role plays a pivotal role in Cleveland. Becoming a Special Constable gives you the chance to work alongside regular Police Officers and Police Staff, bringing skills and experiences and allowing you to give something back to the area.
The Cleveland Police area covers approximately 230 square miles and has a population of around 560,000 people. It is a challenging and worth while role where you would be expected to commit to 16 hours of your spare time every month. As a Special, you’ll make a real difference to Cleveland by reducing crime - and the fear of crime – across the area, whilst gaining unique experiences you simply can’t get anywhere else. If you have the spare time, we couldn’t think of a better way to spend it.
You will gain so many transferable skills such as, communication, decision making, self-confidence, leadership, conflict and crises management. Great additions to any CV making you more employable in the future.
Paula Green, Citizens in Policing Coordinator, signed up to the volun-tees platform right from the start and has been supporting students with volunteering for many years. A wealth of experience, who is fully supportive of Teesside University and comes onto campus regularly to attend volunteering fairs and present in in-curriculum sessions.
