Three of our Interior Design/Textile students were looking to gain some experience from working with a 'live' client on an Interiors Project for their portfolios. Volun-tees gave a 'shout out' to our community organisations and received some excellent design briefs. We decided to go with the Salvation Army who wanted a revamp on their prayer room to make it into a calming and reflective, prayerful space which would be visually appealing and engaging to small children right up to the elderly. Armed with lots of ideas and a £150 budget the three students used their talents to re-design the space making it interesting, warm and welcoming. Naomi Kelly from the Salvation Army said the project went 'Brilliantly!! The girls did so well. I’m so grateful to them'. Well done to our wonderful students!

Volunteering with our community support workers from Newport Community Hub, Middlesbrough North. You will support events and activities from the hub and be involved in subject related areas of Middlesbrough Council where possible.
