Vaibhavi is an MSc Forensic Science student who arrived at Teesside University in September 2018.Since then she has completed over 260 hours of volunteering and won the runner up in the International Student of the year at the Volun-cheers awards.The Volun-tees team in conversation with Vaibhavi!Who do you volunteer with and why did you choose to volunteer with them?I volunteered with Volun-tees and Scope. I am glad I have had an opportunity to work with them. I love volunteering because it is the only happiness you get from yourself by talking and helping all.  I chose them because they are well known organisations where the people are friendly and its like a small family. What is involved in your volunteering role?At Scope I am the key volunteer which includes till work, shop cleaning, changing the displays to make the shop look attractive and the most important thing is customer service. Making customers satisfied and happy.  As a part of Volun-tees I also volunteered at several events which made me happy for example 'Make a Child Smile and the Christmas Party for the Elderly. What have you learnt/skills have you gained through volunteering?Self confidence, team work, time management, communication skills, leadership, working under pressure and to understand my own abilities What did you enjoy the most?Working with different people and getting to know them. Having friendly surroundings while you work is the best achievement and I have had that in both places where I have volunteered.  Has your volunteering role helped you to gain employment in any way?  If so, how?I have gained lots of skills by volunteering which will definitely help me into employment at a later stage. How did the Volun-tees system help your volunteering experience?
