Our charity mission

Roseberry Community provides education, support, and outreach activities to disadvantaged groups of young people across the Tees Valley region. We focus on music, singing and dancing, keep fit, neurodiversity, anti-bullying techniques, martial arts and revision classes for school curriculum.

Key activities and sessions

We have over 150 young people and children every month joining our activities and session. These include the following

• Starmakerz: Free music workshops in dancing, singing, learning musical instruments and music tuition aimed at disadvantaged children and young people aged 4 to 18 years old every Monday, 12pm to 2pm
• Starmakerz Music Collective:  Celebrating neurodiversity and diversity through a weekly choir every Monday, 6pm to 7pm
• Self -defence classes : Teaching anti bullying techniques through martial art for young people, running every Saturday, 10am to 12pm
• Neuro Network: Arranging activities for children and young people with neurodiverse conditions every Saturday, 2pm to 4pm
• Revise2revise: Offer support to children and young people who struggle in school, every Monday 4pm to 5pm.
• Little Stars:  Parents and toddler group every Tuesday and Thursday, 9.30am to 11.30am

All our activities take place at our community hub at Laurel House, 78 Skinner Street, Stockton on Tees, TS18 1EG. Through the support of multiple funders and donations, we have created a community hub. The hub contains excellent facilities like a podcasting studio, a gym/dance studio, a community kitchen, an art room and a training room. These facilities are available for hire. 

What we are looking for?

We need more volunteers to join our team. Looking for committed and hard-working volunteers. Last year, we have done fantastic activities and events. A fancy dress fundraising walk at Roseberry Topping,  fundraiser at Osbornes, Got Talent showcasing the talent of children and young people and much more. Our heroic helpers have worked hard and keep plodding to give their support. 

There are plenty of opportunities to be involved in like marketing & fundraising encompassing roles such as social media, organising fundraising events, podcasting and computer literate roles such as writing bids or give support in projects we deliver.

One of volunteers joined the charity in 2022. He worked on the graphic design tasks for the charity, that includes flyers, leaflets and social media posts. His greatest achievement has been designing the outside banner, showing what we do as a charity. He has secured a work placement for a reputable local company. Given the competition the role had, he got it thanks to the work he has done for the charity. The employer find his work very impressive.
