In Our Shoes Dementia Carer Peer Support Volunteer

Join our Dementia Carers for their weekly peer support group. In this group you will learn about the first hand experiences of people caring for someone living with dementia and find out more about local services and opportunities for support.

What You'll Do: 

Join our team as a Dementia Carer Peer Support Volunteer and make a positive impact within our community! As a volunteer, you will provide compassionate and non-judgmental support to people who care for someone living with dementia who may facing challenges such as stress, mental health concerns, or personal issues. Your role involves actively listening, offering empathy, sharing experiences where possible, and connecting carers with appropriate resources.

What We're Looking For: 
We are looking for someone who is: Interested in learning more about the role that family carers play in caring for someone living with dementia, Someone who would like to learn more about local opportunities and services that might benefit people living with dementia and their carers, Perhaps someone who might be interesting in pursing a counselling-related role so that basic counselling skills can be practiced
