Keep Boro Tidy Community Litter Pick As a Do Good, Feel Good event, come and join us to give back to our community.

Thursday 28th August 2025, from 12:30-14:30

What You'll Do:

Building on the success of the last two litter picks, we would love to do this again!

On Thursday 28th August, we will meet at the Student Life Building at 12:30pm and walk over to Newport Community Hub. The litter pick will be between 1-2pm. We will then walk back to campus and arrive about 1:30pm. All gloves, pickers and bags will be provided. Please wear suitable footwear and weather appropriate clothing. We will then join a team of volunteers and help to "Keep Boro Tidy!"

Why You'll Love It:
The hard working crews at Middlesbrough Council keep the town clean and tidy all year round but are asking for a little bit of help in doing so.    The sense of community from getting together with others for a single litter pick can boost your mood significantly, as can seeing the results of your actions and knowing you have helped tidy the local area. Passers-by will often give you a nod or a smile of appreciation or even strike up a conversation.
What You'll Learn:
You will learn about your local area and ways in which you can improve the space around you.    A clean, tidy environment can also enhance a sense of pride and encourage further positive actions.
What We're Looking For:
Volunteers who are wanting to make a difference and give something back. Volunteers who want to help the residents of Middlesbrough, businesses and the community. Together, we can all help to #KeepBoroTidy!   A good level of fitness to be able to manage the walk, carry the bag.
