What You'll Do: 

Lottery Administrator Volunteer

Department: Fundraising

Location: Income Generation Hub, Teesside Hospice, 1 Northgate Road, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, TS5 5NW

Time Requirement:  Flexible at ½–1 day per week (Mon–Fri 8am-6pm)

Age Requirements: From 18 years old plus

Role Summary: This role supports the Lottery Development Officer with essential behind‑the‑scenes administration that keeps the Teesside Hospice lottery running smoothly. Tasks will include data entry, member steward support, record‑keeping, phone calls to members, and helping ensure accurate, compliant lottery administration in line with internal processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Data entry and database updates for lottery members
  • Supporting member stewardship (e.g., preparing thank‑you messages, mailings)
  • Responding to routine lottery enquiries or taking messages for the team
  • Digitising records and maintaining accurate files
  • Photocopying, scanning, and preparing promotional packs
  • Assisting with checking compliance documentation (linked to Gambling Act requirements)
  • Assisting Supporter Care with routine lottery admin tasks as needed
  • Handling information confidentially and professionally
  • Communicating with the Lottery Development Officer about any concerns or absence

  • Friendly, calm, and confident telephone manner
  • Trustworthy and able to handle sensitive information
  • Compassionate and respectful towards hospice supporters and stakeholders
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

 

Training requirements:

As a Lottery Administrator Volunteer you will complete the following training:

  • Teesside Hospice mandatory training
  • Volunteer induction training
  • Training on the lottery database and compliance processes

 

Support and supervision:

Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be the Lottery Development Officer to support you in your role.

 

Communications:

The Lottery Development Officer will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge
