Safe Families is a charity that works with 35+ local authorities around the UK. Safe Family friends work directly with families. Coming alongside and giving support to parents and children when they need it most, making sure they feel less isolated.

What You'll Do: 

Do you like spending time with people/children?Do you have a heart for families? If the answers to these questions are yes, then why don't we meet up for a cuppa and a chat and see where we go from there? Or you could sign up to an information evening. https://safefamilies.uk/infosessions/ Maybe you could become one of our Family friends who come alongside families, Children and young people to help them when life is overwhelming and they need a listening ear or helping hand? The role is very flexible and enables you to offer support according to your skills, interests and availability. Responsibilities of a Family Friend may include, but are not limited to:– Moral support and encouragement to parents/carers in difficulty.– Parenting support and development of parenting strengths for struggling parents/carers. – Sharing helpful information about parenting or supporting parents/carers in accessing services that they need.– Taking children out for fun activities in the area NB Becoming a Family Friend requires a level of screening and training, but you will be assisted through the process. An enhanced DBS check will be carried out as part of the application process.
