What You'll Do:

Blaze is a Charity that relies on social media for engagement, awareness and communication with our local community and wider. We work with children, youth and their families on Grangetown, Middlesbrough. Our project leads do their best to communicate regularly through social media, but we are hoping to improve our social media presence. A better social media presence could potentially bring more service users, community engagement, and income from large funders as well as individual supporters. Check out our facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/blazeuk/ Two Roles Available:1. We are looking for one person to create a social media strategy that is useable in real life by our staff. Academic knowledge of effective social media marketing is required. Experience in this area is desirable but not essential. We have no specific media/comms/fundraising staff, as funders very rarely give for that sort of role. Social Media Marketing in the charitable sector is potentially a good area of research. We are happy for you to use this as a research project opportunity or just to gain experience. 2. We are are looking for one or two people to come along weekly to sessions with excellent photography and film making skills, to photograph and make short film snapshots for use on social media. As well as over a few months collating the footage to create a short promo film for the charity that we can use on social media and send to funders. We are happy for you to use this as a research project opportunity or to just gain experience. We Offer:We reimburse travel costs to and from coming to volunteer, such as bus fare/ petrol. In accordance with our budget additional costs may be covered; eg. printing costs. We have a dedicated volunteer coordinator, who will support you in your role. If you have goals for your time with us, we will do our utmost to help you achieve them.
