Join our fantastic Durham County Council Rangers in maintaining our sites for biodiversity and access. Learn skills such as woodland and meadow management, invasive plant species removal, fencing and more!
This is an amazing opportunity to learn a variety of skills. Depending upon your choice you could be based at Hardwick Park, Sedgefield or within our Ad-hoc team who look after sites across the county including Wingate Quarry and Blackhall Rocks. Task are seasonal and site dependent. Some examples include; shrub removal, dead hedging, coppicing, creating paths and wildflower management.
Our sessions run every Wednesday 10am -1:30pm. It is not compulsory to come to every session and you dont have to stay the whole session, just let staff know if you plan on leaving early. We also have Saturday sessions which run on the second Saturday of every month 10am -1:30pm. Other opportunities include 1:1 volunteering with our Countryside Rangers.
