Team player? Love supporting young people? Great at planning? Each week, our volunteers help young people gain skills for life through activities and adventures. Most of our volunteers work directly with young people aged 4 to 18 through our groups.

What You'll Do:

We work with children and young people;

-  4 - 6 Years old; Squirrels

- 6 - 8 Years olds; Beavers

- 8-10 1/2 Years olds; Cubs

- 10 1/2 - 14 Years old; Scouts

- 14 - 18 Years old; Explorers

- 18 - 25 Years old; Network

Groups will meet on a weekly basis, during term time and deliver a programme of activities and games which are designed to be fun and support children and young people to try new things and grow into active members of their community.

To support the running of these youth groups each have a small, friendly team of volunteers who are all trained in planning and delivering the programme, but we always welcome new ideas and people who are happy to pitch in and enjoy volunteering together.

As a volunteer you can get involved as much as you want to. If you would like to gain experience of taking part in activities and working with children, we will provide you with a DBS and all the training you need, free of charge. If you then decide that you would like to undertake further training to become a Leader yourself, we will provide all training for you to achieve that.

Why You'll Love It:
At Scouts we can promise that you will have fun and a sense of fulfillment knowing that you are helping the children enjoy themselves, make friends and learn skills that will last a lifetime. All adult volunteers and children alike create memories that they will talk about for years to come!   Volunteering can be a brilliant way to boost your mental wellbeing. It’s a great feeling knowing you’re helping young people get skills for life, and you might even learn a lot about yourself along the way.  Scouts can make you feel good in other ways too. We’ll guide you to an opportunity where you’ll:  Make friends and meet people  Try new things and challenge yourself  Get outdoors and get stuck in  Positively impact your community  Create vital opportunities for young people  Make memories that'll last a lifetime
