Team player? Love supporting young people? Great at planning? Each week, our volunteers help young people gain skills for life through activities and adventures. Most of our volunteers work directly with young people aged 4 to 18 through our groups.
We work with children and young people;
- 4 - 6 Years old; Squirrels
- 6 - 8 Years olds; Beavers
- 8-10 1/2 Years olds; Cubs
- 10 1/2 - 14 Years old; Scouts
- 14 - 18 Years old; Explorers
- 18 - 25 Years old; Network
Groups will meet on a weekly basis, during term time and deliver a programme of activities and games which are designed to be fun and support children and young people to try new things and grow into active members of their community.
To support the running of these youth groups each have a small, friendly team of volunteers who are all trained in planning and delivering the programme, but we always welcome new ideas and people who are happy to pitch in and enjoy volunteering together.
As a volunteer you can get involved as much as you want to. If you would like to gain experience of taking part in activities and working with children, we will provide you with a DBS and all the training you need, free of charge. If you then decide that you would like to undertake further training to become a Leader yourself, we will provide all training for you to achieve that.
