What You'll Do:
You will be part of a group of volunteers who actively contribute to the planning of Middlesbrough Pride and its associated events.
Your skills and experience can support Curious Arts/Pride to make positive, relevant and inclusive LGBTQIA+ events happen for the communities they celebrate, right here in Tees Valley.
Together we’ll make a great Pride event happen for the town!
What will you be doing?
- Attending monthly committee meetings, held either in-person, hybrid and online.
- Volunteering your time alongside a committee of community members, sharing valuable insights and learning new skills in Pride event development.
- Helping plan the content included in 2024’s event - from programming artists to family activities.
- Spreading the word about the event by marketing, fundraisers, sponsorship, stall sales and sharing information with local communities.
- Helping organise fundraising activity - good quality, safe, welcoming and accessible events take time and money to make them happen!
- Supporting event delivery on the day, with a designated volunteer role in your area of interest.

We can pay your travel expenses, and you'll receive a meal or a meal voucher when you volunteer for a day or evening shift.
Once you have signed up to be part of Tees Valley Festivals Volunteering you will receive training in Customer Service and Health & Safety. There will be opportunities for further training in Inclusivity & Accessibility, Working with Children, Digital Capture, Content Creation and Social Media, and Sound and Technical Production. You can also get involved in some exciting creative community art and music workshops which will be running across the Tees Valley. And you can earn, and take part in, the RSA's wonderful new Badge Nation Award Programme.
What We're Looking For:
An interest in LGBTQIA+ culture and supporting LGBTQIA+ communities.
You enjoy arts, performance and attending events and festivals.
Enthusiasm and a helpful, can-do attitude.
Willingness to try new things, learn new skills and make positive and respectful contributions.
Any previous experience of working in events would be a wonderful bonus.
