Volunteer research assistant positions are available at the MIND Lab at the Dept. of Psychology, Teesside University. This is for people who are interested in gaining experience conducting lab-based research in cognitive psychology.
You will join a group of researchers working on a range of ongoing projects in our Lab. We will work with you to identify which skills you want to develop as a researcher. You will:
- Learn how to administer cognitive testing procedures (vary depending on the project) to examine attention, learning, decision-making.
- Work with participants to collect data in the lab.
- Attend lab-group meetings to learn about and contribute to research projects.
- Learn about open science, cognitive psychology, neurosicence, data analysis and improve your research skills.
- Potentially contribute to research outputs (e.g., papers, presentations, posters etc.)

Independent Visitors are matched with a child in care based on location, age, and interests. Visits happen every 3–4 weeks, building a unique, trusted relationship over 2 years.
