Help people to learn to read! Initial work for a Pioneer would involve gathering together a group of like-minded volunteers to form a Management Team, networking with supporting organisations and referral agencies, with guidance and support from REUK

What You'll Do:

Use your enthusiasm to inspire others to form a team to start helping adults to learn to read in the Tees Valley. You will network and communicate with organisations, referral agencies, funders and volunteers to establish a Read Easy group here in the Tees Valley area, supported by your Regional Adviser for the North East & Yorkshire.

Why You'll Love It:
Over 2.4 million adults in England alone can barely read or cannot read at all. Volunteering with us offers the chance to make a truly life-changing difference in our community, creating a new Read Easy group to offer confidential, free, 1-1 reading coaching to anyone who wants to learn to read. We offer support to anyone over the age of 18. No two days are the same, and you'll get to meet people from all walks of life who share your desire to help others.
What You'll Learn:
Leadership, listening and communication skills, bringing people together from all walks of life. Networking with referral agencies and supporting organisations, and recruiting a wonderful team of like-minded volunteers to work alongside you. Publicity skills as you help to raise the profile of Read Easy and bring our work to the area.
What We're Looking For:
If you care passionately about people, and have the drive and self-motivation to reach out to other people who feel the same as you, we'd love to hear from you! Great communication and networking skills and a desire to help others improve their lives to become more fulfilled and independent...you could be our next Pioneer!
