We look out for those that are vulnerable and help however we can, often offering a shoulder to cry on or a listening ear.
Our excellent contacts mean we can assist those who have emotional, mental health or addiction issues or are homeless or sleeping rough
Our volunteers (who come from all walks of life) usually offer their services one Saturday night a month, some do two, but most are available in an emergency situation should the need arise
Our volunteering is not only important to our volunteers who feel they 'make a difference' (however small it may be), but we also work alongside Medics UK, Cleveland Police and the Door Staff who we know appreciate our efforts more than we could ever realise.
To have a non-judgmental approach, be calm, caring, a good listener and team player.
A volunteers typical journey could be to :- Volunteer, Lead a Team*, Be a First Aider*, Become a Trustee, join our Management Team.
* after the relevant Training / Certification is obtained - Conflict Management (for Team Leader), First Aid / Professional experience for First Aider.
We have been assisting the weekend night time economy in Middlesbrough since 2010 and still have one of our original volunteers that was on the very first patrol all those years ago.
Our Opportunities
Our Charity patrols Middlesbrough Town Centre each Saturday evening from 22:30 until 02:00 Sunday, we look out for vulnerable people who may need assistance or sometimes just a friendly chat. We offer Flip-flops, Water, First Aid and Hot Drinks
