Our Championing National Parks for Everyone project is led by the charity Peak District Mosaic who are working with the North York Moors National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Peak District National Park. Derbyshire Dales Council for Voluntary Service are also a project partner, working to help build capacity and infrastructure.
The project is made possible through the National Lottery Heritage Fund and has a focus on ethnically and culturally diverse communities so they have the confidence and skills to build a lifelong relationship with the National Parks.
In the North York Moors National Park we would like to bring together the communities of Teesside.
Our programme will:
- Support more people to connect with nature and enjoy the National Parks
- Deliver outdoor activity days and training events that develop skills, confidence and awareness of the benefits of National Parks - there is something for everyone!
- Deliver training sessions and provide resources to create a network of Community Champions, who can lead their own visits introducing their families and others to the beauty of the National Parks
- Provide a new trainee opportunity working here at North York Moors National Park
- Provide a variety of volunteering opportunities.
Community Champions are adults from culturally diverse communities who have completed trraining to build their skills, knowledge and confidence.
