Do Good, Feel Good
We have some “Do Good, Feel Good” events coming up and would love for you to join us. These events are volunteering alongside the volunteering team so you will be fully supported throughout. A great chance to give something back to the community, build up your volunteering hours and get to know the team more.
Take a look at the last Do Good, Feel Good event - click here. We helped Middlesbrough Council with a Keep Boro Tidy Litter pick. A great couple of hours and what a difference we made.
Clothing Sale
The volunteering charity clothing sale will be taking place on Tuesday 23 September, 10.00am - 2.00pm, in the Student Life building. Ran by the volunteering team and student volunteers, this event is always brilliant!
The clothing sale, open to both colleagues and students, supports the Sustainable Futures Strategy and aims to prevent pre-loved clothes going to landfill. All money raised will be given to a local charity. Every item costs £1 and all money raised will be split between The Teesside Hospice and Teesside Mind. (CASH only event)
Case Studies and Spotlights
Every month we like to shine a light on our volunteers and find out more about their volunteering journey. Thank you, Corinna Russell, Jack Simmons and Deepika Jain, for agreeing to be a volunteering case study. We loved reading about your volunteering experiences and your top tips for other volunteers.
This month, our organisations in the spotlight are Fareshare and Cleveland Police. Both provide such a wonderful and supportive experience to their volunteers, and we are extremely grateful to have them on the platform.

Volunteering Fairs
We have four Volunteering Fairs scheduled for Semester one. These are all between 10:30am – 1:30pm in the Exhibition Space, Ground Floor Student Life Building. Come along and meet the organisations to find out more about the amazing volunteering opportunities on offer. No booking required – just drop by when it suits you. There is something for everyone, organisations such as; Cleveland Police, Boro Angels, Youth Focus, The Conversation Volunteers and many more will be in attendance.

We have a new group in Thornaby which meets weekly every Wednesday evening at Thornaby Methodist Church.(TS17 9DZ) We support people (over 18) going through feelings of depression and anxiety. We currently need both volunteer facilitators and peers to attend.

Teesside University champion period dignity by providing free menstrual products on site. We are proud to support period dignity at Teesside University, which is why we are now able to offer free sanitary products to students who menstruate.
