Red Balloons' Volunteer Peer Supporters offer people a safe space to talk about their mental health and how they feel while encouraging people to use physical activity to improve their mental and physical wellbeing.

What You'll Do:

Initially you will support Walk Leaders at Walking Groups around Teesside and support attendees.  Once experienced you may be asked to Lead Walks yourself and/or undertake 1-1 Sessions with service users.

Why You'll Love It:
If you have lived experience of mental ill health, either personally or as a Carer, this will give you the opportunity to share your experience to support others, including hints and tips of things they can do to feel better.  This is a very practical opportunity where you will be putting your experience and knowledge to use but you will be doing this with a lot of support from other Volunteers and staff at Red Balloons.
What You'll Learn:
Leadership Skills, enhance communication and people skills, time management, tact and diplomacy.
What We're Looking For:
People with lived experience with good communication skills, an empathetic nature who are able to be non-judgemental and accepting of other people and their lifestyles.  Good listeners.
